Boil water advisory in effect after water main break in Coxsackie

Posted:

COXSACKIE, N. Y. – A boil water advisory is in effect for the Village of Coxsackie, the Town of Coxsackie and the Town of New Baltimore until further notice.

This is following a water main break earlier on Tuesday night in the Town of Coxsackie. Coxsackie Mayor Mark Evans tells NEWS10 ABC that a contractor working on a construction site at the new YMCA in the Town of Coxsackie was severed, causing a total water outage in the Village of Coxsackie, and parts of the Town of Coxsackie and the Town of New Baltimore.

Mayor Evans said that residents with no water can expect to see their water return soon, but they may have air in the lines and discolored water for the next several hours as crews work to restore water to all the affected customers.
