Averill Park man charged with DWI, leaving accident scene

SCHAGHTICOKE, N.Y. – State Police in Brunswick arrested a 22-year-old man for allegedly driving while intoxicated in Schaghticoke Saturday morning.

Michael C. Decker, of Averill Park, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Leaving the Scene.  

Troopers received a report of a reckless driver on State Route 40 and stopped Decker's vehicle. According to police, he was found to be intoxicated and his vehicle had significant front end damage.  He admitted to striking a guide rail with his car prior to being stopped.

The accident scene was located by Troopers and in addition to the DWI, he was ticketed for leaving the scene of the accident. He is to appear in Town court at a later date.
