ALBANY, N.Y. - New York has about $12.5 billion in unclaimed fund accounts and the State Comptroller trying to help people get that money back.
State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli's Office is holding events around the state to get the funds back to their rightful owners. His office is at the Desmond Hotel in Albany until 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
Events will continue through the month. People can also head to the Office of Unclaimed Funds website.
