SCHENECTADY, N.Y.—Forty eight elementary and middle school students will compete in the Schenectady City School District Spelling Bee this week.
Thirty-six students in grades 3-6 will compete on Wednesday, January 15 beginning at 10 a.m. in the Schenectady High School auditorium.
Twelve middle school students will compete on Thursday, January 16, also beginning at 10 a.m. in the Schenectady auditorium.
The 48 elementary and middle school students competing this week were recently top finishers in their respective school contests.
The top three spellers from each group will continue on to the regional spelling bee held at Proctors.
