N.Y. - The defense for an Albany County man accused of killing his partner
chose not to give an opening statement on Tuesday.
After the prosecution gave its opening statement, Williams'
defense team chose not to speak.
Williams is accused of stabbing Sharene Wallace multiple times in
her Albany apartment last May. The victim was found dead inside her apartment
in a bedroom closet, according to police. He has been charged with second-degree murder
At the time of the
crime, Williams was under the supervision of the NYS Department of Corrections
and Community Supervision (Parole) and is a level 2 registered sex offender.
Additionally, Williams was wanted for a Parole violation.
Wallace was also
under the supervision of the NYS Department of Corrections and Community
Supervision at the time of her death.
victim's sister has told NEWS10 ABC that Wallace and Williams were married, but
only under Islamic Law.
