Parents arrested after baby's cheek was bitten

GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. – A bite has led to the arrest of two people, according to police.

Zackary Bevers, 20, and Heather Sartin, 22, have been charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A Misdemeanor, after a lengthy investigation.

Gloversville Police say the investigation began in February 2013, when Child Protective Services told them the couple's one-month old child had an unexplained human bite mark on the right cheek.

Police were unable to determine who bit the child, but they say Bevers and Sartin neglected to seek medical attention for the baby.

According to authorities, the child's injury appears to have completely healed and there have been no further similar incidents with the subjects.
