LAKE LUZERNE, N.Y. — A Niskayuna man accused of killing his estranged wife on Christmas Eve appeared in court Wednesday.
Clifford Burns, 46, is accused of stabbing 42-year old Patricia Burns multiple times on December 24, 2013, which led to her death.
According to the Warren County Sheriff's Office, Burns stabbed the victim multiple times around 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Deputies say a 22-year old woman was also stabbed in the arm when she tried to intervene.
Patricia Burns was pronounced dead at Glens Falls Hospital.
The 22-year old woman was also taken to Glens Falls Hospital,
authorities say, with injuries that weren't life threatening.
After the attack, police said Clifford Burns led them on a brief car chase in Lake George that ended in the parking lot of the Warren County Sheriff's Office.
