Pawling man arrested for allegedly stealing unemployment benefits

PAWLING, N.Y. -- A Pawling man has been arrested after allegedly stealing unemployment benefits from the state.

According to State Police, 47-year old Edwin Seiferth lied about his unemployment status, saying he was unemployed, when he actually had a job.

Police say Seiferth collected more than $4,000 he was not entitled to from the State Department of Labor over a period of time.

He was arrested and charged with Grand Larceny and arraigned in town court.
