WATERFORD, N.Y. – Waterford Police have arrested a woman for abandoning two cats in the cold.

On January 1, an officer with the Waterford Police Department responded to a report of two cats in a cardboard box abandoned in Clement Park. An investigation concluded the cats were abandoned without food or water on December 31.

Two neighbors agreed to care for the cats before they were brought to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter.

45-year-old Lynneanne Snay was arrested and charged with Abandonment of Animals on January 6. She is scheduled to appear in Waterford Town Court on January 16.

The two cats are healthy and being housed at the Saratoga County Animal Shelter. They will be available for adoption soon.
