Berkshire gas customers complain of scam emails

PITTSFIELD, Mass., —Berkshire gas customers have reported receiving emails from "Atmos Energy" seeking payment for their natural gas usage. 

After speaking with customers, Atmos Energy has determined that the emails are fraudulent. 

The following advice is being provided to customers on the company website: 

"Some Berkshire Gas customers have recently reported receiving emails from "Atmos Energy" seeking payment for their natural gas usage. These are scam emails and should be ignored and deleted from your computer. These emails are in no way related to your Berkshire Gas account and the scammers sending them have not accessed any Berkshire Gas records or accounts."  

Berkshire Gas customers are asked to calls 1-800-292-5012 with any further questions.
