Queensbury man charged in theft of valuable coin collection

QUEENSBURY, N.Y. – A 45-year-old Queensbury man has been arrested and charged with burglary and grand larceny in connection to the theft of a valuable coin collection.
The Warren County Sheriff's Office arrested Sean R. Hallahan on charges of felony Grand Larceny and felony Burglary.
According to police, Hallahan stole a coin collection valued at $4,121 from a home on McCormack Drive in Queensbury on October 6th 2012. The suspect is familiar with the home owner and had permission to be inside the residence at the time of the theft.
Several days later, Hallahan returned to the residence and stole an assortment of rings and jewelry, valued at $1,050. He did not have permission to enter the residence during that incident.
During the investigation, police learned that Hallahan sold the property, valued at $5171, to a pawn shop in Latham. None of the property has been recovered.
Hallahan was arraigned in Queensbury Town Court and sent to the Warren County Correctional Facility in lieu of $15,000.00 cash bail or $30,000.00 bond. He is due to re-arrear in Queensbury Court on January 6, 2014.
