ALBANY, N.Y. – A Code Blue status goes into effect Friday, January 3 in Albany.
Code Blue is an outreach program aimed at the transport and shelter of the Capital District's homeless during extreme winter weather. It goes into effect when the temperature drops below 10 degrees with wind-chill or more than a foot of snow forecasted.
The status will begin Friday night and continue into Saturday. The status will be removed on Sunday, but goes back into effect on Monday through Wednesday, January 8.
