Underage drinking sting nets arrests


WILTON, NY - On Friday, the New York State Police headquartered in Wilton, NY, conducted an underage drinking initiative operation. The operation targeted the sale of alcohol to minors. Various establishments in Saratoga County were visited and undercover operatives who were less than 21 attempted to purchase alcoholic beverages. Twenty seven establishments were visited including convenience, grocery and liquor stores.

New York State Police Captain John W. McCarthy, Troop G, Zone Two Commander, reiterated the State Police commitment to the effort to curb the sale of alcohol to minors. "We are committed to using our personnel and resources to prevent underage drinking. We will continue to combat traffic-related and other tragedies that may result from underage consumption of alcohol. Our goal is 100% compliance with state law regarding sale of alcohol to minors."

This operation resulted in the following arrests:

CHADD. PASHAD – Schenectady, NY
Establishment – Clifton Country Road Mobil/Jolley – 2 Clifton Country Road, Clifton Park

Establishment – Rite-Aid – 1701 Route 9, Halfmoon

MICHAEL A. DAVIDSON – South Glens Falls, NY
Establishment – Friendly Spirits Wine & Liquor – 1346 Rt 9, Gansevoort

All three were arrested for Unlawfully Dealing with a Child in the 1st Degree and were scheduled court appearances at a later date.
