LAKE LUZERNE, N.Y. – A Niskayuna man is charged with murder this Christmas after Sheriff's deputies say he fatally stabbed his estranged wife at a home on Lake Avenue.
According to the Warren County Sheriff's Office, 46-year old Clifford Burns stabbed 42-year old Patricia Burns multiple times around 5 p.m. Christmas Eve. Deputies say a 22-year old woman was also stabbed in the arm when she tried to intervene.
Patricia Burns was pronounced dead at Glens Falls Hospital.
The 22-year old woman was also taken to Glens Falls Hospital, authorities say, with injuries that weren't life threatening. A spokesperson for Glens Falls Hospital said on Wednesday that the hospital did not have any listings for her as a patient.
Warren County Lt. Steve Stockdale tells NEWS10 ABC a third female reported suffering very minor injuries in the home, but "could not state how it happened."
After the attack, police said Clifford Burns led them on a brief car chase in Lake George that ended in the parking lot of the Warren County Sheriff's Office.
Clifford Burns was charged with 2nd degree murder after his arrest and sent to the County Jail, without bail.
