Saratoga Springs teen removed from school after alleged terroristic threat

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Saratoga Springs Police responded to the F. Donald Myers Education Center on Tuesday after a teen allegedly made threatening comments.

On Tuesday, December 17, at about 12:16 p.m., Saratoga Springs Police Department officers responded to the F. Donald Myers Education Center on Henning Road in reference to comments made by a 15-year old male.

It was reported that the teen made threatening comments in regards to the safety of the faculty and staff of the Meyers Center. Once police arrived, they worked with the Meyers Center staff to determine that there was no imminent threat to the school or its occupants. The juvenile was subsequently suspended and removed from the school.

Further investigation into the incident resulted in the referral of the 15-year old to Saratoga County Family Court for Making a Terroristic Threat, which would be classified as a felony if committed by an adult.

The Saratoga County Attorney's Office will be handling the matter at Saratoga County Family Court.
