Fundraiser started for local couple who lost home, pets to fire

DELANSON, N.Y. -- An online fundraiser has been started to help a couple who lost their home in a fire on Thursday.
The couple, Jake and Jill Montesano, are both members of the National Guard. Jill has been deployed for 10 months and is scheduled to arrive home Friday night. She was originally supposed to return on Saturday, but the Armed Forces division of the Red Cross helped get her an earlier flight home.
Both their home and two dogs were lost to the fire.The fundraiser aims to raise $40,000 for the couple, and has currently brough in $18,095. Clothing donations are also being accepted at the home of Jill's parents, Nancy and Gary Fox located at 70 Miracle Lane in Loundonville.
