SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- A teen was hospitalized after he was hit by a car in Schenectady Friday morning.
The accident occurred at around 7:45 a.m. near the intersection of Albany Street and Wagner Avenue.
Police say the 16-year-old ran out into Albany Street in front of oncoming traffic. The operator of the vehicle, who was travelling west at the time of the accident, did not notice the pedestrian, as he had been standing in front of a legally parked vehicle on the side of the road. There is no crosswalk at that intersection.
The victim was treated at the scene and taken to Albany Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Police are unable to provide an update on his condition at this time.
The driver has not been charged in the crash.
