Two face drug charges following traffic stop

WATERVLIET, N.Y. - Two people were arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop on I-787 in Watervliet.

New York State Troopers say they pulled over the vehicle on I-787. During the traffic stop Troopers say they located drugs in the vehicle. Driver James Foley, 33, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.

He was issued appearance tickets.

The passenger, Latif S. Parker, 20, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana. According to NYS Police, the drugs were found on his person.

According to authorities, the drugs seized included MDMA, cocaine, Marijuana and various pills.

He was arraigned in city court and remanded to the Albany County Jail to await a preliminary hearing.
