AMSTERDAM ,N.Y. - Hazmat crews responded to the emergency room of St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam for an unidentified odor on Monday night.
Authorities were unsure of the source or what the odor was at the time of the evacuation. Since the initial investigation, patients and staff have returned to the emergency room. The ambulance service was diverted to other hospitals during the evacuation.
There have been no reported illness associated with this odor.
Hospital officials say no other parts of the hospital were affected.
