REXFORD, N.Y. – A Corinth man was arrested after allegedly robbing a Stewart's Shops Sunday.
State Police Clifton Park responded to a call of a robbery around 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Stewart's Shop on Riverview Road in Rexford.
An investigation revealed that 31-year-old Grover Dake entered the store and demanded money from one of the cash registers.
An employee attempted to prevent Dake from gaining access to the register. Dake then pushed the employee, forcibly removed money from the register and exited the store. Store patrons restrained Dake in the parking lot until State Police arrived and placed Dake under arrest.
Dake was found to be in possession of suboxone, a schedule III controlled substance, at the time of the arrest. He was charged with Robbery in theThird Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree.
Dake was arraigned in the Town of Clifton Park Court and remanded to the Saratoga County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
He is scheduled to return to court on December 11.
