ALBANY, N.Y. - A 21-year-old Albany man has been sentenced to State Prison after pleading guilty to one count of Predatory Sexual Assault Against a Child.
Walter Cleveland, 21, will spend the next 16 years behind bars.
On August 14, 2012, Cleveland intentionally engaged in criminal sexual acts with a child less than 11-years-old by use of forcible compulsion. The incident took place in Lincoln Park in Albany.
Two witnesses contacted authorities, leading to Cleveland's arrest.
In October 2013, Cleveland pleaded guilty to the felony charge.
Albany County District Attorney David Soares previously stated Cleveland intentionally committed predatory sexual assault and committed forced sexual acts against the 8-year-old boy. He said evidence and eye witness accounts were strong against the Albany man.
After his arrest, a judge ordered a psychiatric evaulation of Cleveland.
