ALBANY, N.Y. - The Albany Parking Authority says the planned activation of new multi-space meters is in its fourth phase of installation.
The 67 new meter boxes were installed last month. When they were activated, they will replace the old single-space meters. This will nearly double the total number of multi-space meters in Albany.
The meters are solar-powered and extend the 2-hour parking limit to 10 hours. The meters accept credit and debit card payments using Visa, MasterCard and Discover Cards, and coins.
The first installation of the meters was in June 2011.
