Man charged with murder in fatal Schenectady shooting

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – A man accused of shooting and killing an Albany man near Mont Pleasant Middle School in November was in court Tuesday.

Nicholas Khan, 20, has officially been charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree. He has pleaded not guilty.

Khan is accused of shooting 24-year-old William Riddick on November 13th. Riddick was behind the wheel of a car when he was shot in the head and he lost control of the vehicle, running into a fence near a field on the Mont Pleasant Middle School property and then stopped in a nearby parking lot.

The Albany man was found in his vehicle around midnight in the area of 1121 Forest Road. A second man in the vehicle suffered from minor injuries.

Khan was taken into custody for unrelated charges on November 14th. An investigation led to the murder charge.

He has been sent to jail on no bail, and his case has been moved to Schenectady County Court. No future court dates has been set.
