Stone Brooke Farm manager and owner to appear in court

BETHLEHEM, N.Y. - The owner and manager of the Stone Brooke Farm are set to appear in court on Tuesday afternoon.

Last month, eight horses and ponies were removed from the Stone Brooke Farm, also known as Walden Farm, following an investigation into undernourishment and illness.

The raid in November was a result of a multi-week investigation into complaints of animal cruelty and neglect to horses.

According to authorities, many of the ponies appeared to have open sores and some appeared to be without water.

The owner, 49-year-old Karen Burrows and manager, 25-year-old William Trianni are scheduled to be in court on Tuesday. They have been charged with eight counts of Failure to Provide Sustenance, a misdemeanor.

The farm is a known for a place to teach children to ride.

The horses are now being cared for by volunteers.
