ALBANY, N.Y. – The week of December 2nd – December 6th has been designated as "Older Driver Safety Awareness Week".
The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee are offering a program called CarFit this week. The program will help senior drivers be safe and comfortable in their vehicle.
CarFit is a national program developed by the American Automobile Association (AAA), the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), and the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). A quick session will determine is the senior citizen and their car are a ‘good fit'.
