ALBANY, N.Y. – The Albany County Sheriff's Office has released the results of a one day handicap parking initiative that ended in 48 tickets.
The summonses were issued to individuals who parked illegally in designated handicapped parking spaces. A breakdown of the summonses issued by individual departments is as follows:
The tickets represent a total of $7,989.00 in fines to be paid.
Since the program was implemented on December 7, 1994, there have been a total of 52 enforcement details conducted, resulting in a total of 2512 summonses being issued and a total of $301,679.00 in fines being levied.
