COBLESKILL, N.Y. – A 21-year-old Massachusetts man was killed, and three others injured, after he lost control of his vehicle while trying to avoid hitting a deer in Cobleskill, according to authorities.
State Police in Cobleskill investigated a fatal one car accident on I-88 on Sunday, December 1. An investigation revealed the vehicle, a 2002 Santa Fe, was reportedly traveling westbound when a deer entered the roadway from the center median.
The driver attempted to avoid the deer and lost control, entered the median, rolling over several times coming to rest on the eastbound slope of I-88. The driver, Michael Clark, 21, of Boxborough, Mass., was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Three other passengers, all traveling to Ithaca College, were transported by Cobleskill and Richmondville Ambulance to Albany Medical Center for various injuries.
