Saratoga incident brings hate crime charges


SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY – Saratoga Springs Police report two men have been charged overnight in a felony hate crime incident.

Shayne Richardson, 21, of Saratoga Springs, and Luis Garcia, 23, of Brooklyn, were arrested after police responded to a fight in progress call on Pavilion Row at 4:02 a.m.

It is alleged that both Richardson and Garcia caused serious physical injury to another person during an assault. Both were arraigned and committed to Saratoga County Jail on bail. The case is still under investigation.
