State Police continue investigation into accident which killed a 5-year-old


HILLSDALE, N.Y. - State Police Livingston are continuing to investigate an accident which killed a 5-year-old girl.

According to authorities, they have determined that on Wednesday night, Ronald Baron, 56, was driving east on State Route 23 behind a Town of Hillsdale plow truck. The truck was being operated by Jamie Robinson, 37. 

Baron allegedly struck the rear of the plow truck which resulted in the death of his daughter who was in a car seat in the second row of the car. Baron's 14-year-old daughter was also seated in the second row and suffered serious spinal cord injuries. She remained in Albany Medical Center

Baron and his wife, Irit Baniel, 49, suffered less serious injuries and were also taken to Albany Medical Center to be treated.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Livingston, and the New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit, are continuing the investigation.
