Troy Christmas tree being cut down following postponement

TROY, N.Y. – The official Christmas tree for the city of Troy will be cut down Wednesday morning after there was a delay on Tuesday.

The original date to cut down the tree was November 26th but due to weather and a broken down county truck, the date had to be changed.

The tree will be cut from the yard of William and Mary Ellen Fisher on Ballina Street in Troy.

Once the tree has been cut down, it will be transported to Riverfront Park where it will stay for the holiday season. The Department of Public Works will then start the process of stringing the lights on the tree.

The tree will be officially lit at 5 p.m. on December 8th, which will cap off the Victorian Stroll.
