K-9 Moe graduates, joins Albany County Sheriff's office

ALBANY, N.Y. - The Albany County Sheriff's office has announced their newest K-9's graduation.

K-9 Moe has graduated from the 20 week New York State Police Academy K-9 School located in Cooperstown NY. 

Moe's name is in honor of retired Sr. Investigator Maureen "Moe" McGuire-Honikel. She began working with the Albany County Sheriff's Office in the late 1970's and passed away from brain cancer in November 2011.

K-9 Moe has been trained specifically in explosive detection and tracking.  Moe and his handler will be assigned to the Sheriff's Headquarters. They will also check all County owned buildings and will be called upon from other agencies in the area.
