ALBANY, N.Y. - STOP DWI checkpoints will be set up throughout New York State during the week of Thanksgiving.
Drivers are reminded that driving with a BAC of 0.08 or higher will put them over the limit.
Law enforcement agencies also plan on cracking down on drivers who are impaired by drugs, both illegal and prescription.
In 2012, there were 8,633 alcohol-related crashes in New York State reported by police, according to DMV statistics. These crashes resulted in 358 deaths and 6,303 injuries.
