Red Cross to distribute free turkey dinners in Fort Plain

ALBANY, N.Y. – The American Red Cross will be handing out free turkey dinners this weekend to residents in areas that were affected by the summer flooding in Fort Plain.

The Adirondack Saratoga Chapter of the American Red Cross is providing the free meals on November 23, courtesy of Javier's Nuevo Latino Cuisine of Saratoga.

The event begins with mobile feedings in the Valley View neighborhood along Reid Street, Abbott Street, and Cooperstown Road. After that a fixed feeding site will be set up at Haslett Park for as long as the meals last.

In June, heavy flooding ravaged Montgomery County with Fort Plain being one of the hardest hit areas. During the flooding, many Fort Plain homes and business were destroyed.
