Motorcyclist injured after collision with fire truck apparatus

BENNINGTON, Vt.,- On Monday evening, there was a serious two vehicle crash on West Road.

Bennington Police say they received the call around 5:20 p.m. on Monday.

Upon investigation, they found driver Gregg Barr, 22, was traveling westbound on West Road in a Brush Fire Truck  apparatus when he turned left to enter a driveway.  At the same time, motorcyclist Kimberly Hathaway, 54, was traveling eastbound. Barr's vehicle crossed into Hathaway's path causing the motorcycle to collide with the passenger side of the truck.

Barr was not injured and was issued a ticket for operating in violation of a restricted license by not wearing corrective lenses while operating a vehicle.

Hathaway has suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

It is still being determined if criminal charges will be pressed against Barr.
