ALBANY, N.Y. – Although it doesn't exactly feel like winter outside, the cold weather will be moving in, and New York residents can now begin applying for winter heating aid.
Households can begin applying for help with their bills through New York's Home Energy Assistance Program.
The federally-funded program provides up to $650 for eligible households to pay for heating energy costs.
Eligibility for the program, commonly known as HEAP, is based on income and household size.
