EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. – A parent information session will be held Monday night in East Greenbush by the school district's superintendent and a local assemblyman.
East Greenbush CSD Superintendent Dr. Angela Nagle will hold the session at Howard L. Goff Middle School from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. the goal of the session is to facilitate a discussion on the Common Core, APPR and state assessments.
Assemblyman John McDonald will join Dr. Nagle for a discussion session and dialogue between parents and administrators about the rigorous Common Core standards, and what those changing standards mean for their children.
The district will then allow parents to be the student during three, 10 minute demonstrations of Common Core lessons. That will be followed by a brief discussion about the high school examination shifts, a brief presentation on APPR and resources for parents.
Dr. Nagle notes the goal of the Parent Information Session is to educate parents while providing new suggestions on how they can help their children be successful.
