OPPENHEIM, N.Y. -- A special meeting of the Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville Central School District is scheduled for Monday evening at the middle school campus in Oppenheim.
No agenda on the meeting's subject was posted by of midnight. NEWS10 ABC's calls to members of the board were not returned Sunday night.
Earlier in the month, we reported on two issues within the district.
Laura Lawrence, who served as the newly-merged district's superintendent, was recently placed on leave for an unspecified reason. Dr. Patrick Michel now serves as interim superintendent.
Dr. Michel said Lawrence's leave is not related to a State Education Department investigation into past grading and promotion practices in the district. In fact, Dr. Michel told NEWS10 ABC, it was Lawrence that first informed the education department of the issues with the practices.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m., inside the middle school campus in Oppenheim, at 6486 State Route 29.
