ALBANY, N.Y. -- As temperatures begin to dip, the city of Albany is ready to help place the homeless into shelters.
The Capital City Rescue Mission kicks off its Code Blue program on Friday afternoon.
Code Blue is an outreach program meant to move homeless people to shelter and off the streets when extreme winter conditions hit. The program has housed nearly 600 people within its first three seasons.
The program goes into effect when the temperature, including wind chill, is ten degrees, and also when twelve or more inches of snow is forecasted.
