ALBANY, N.Y. – U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand will hold events in Fulton and Schoharie Counties on Friday.
Gillibrand will tour Fulton Montgomery Community College's Center for Engineering and Technology, Electrical Technology - Nanotechnology Program in Johnstown.
She will then be joined in Middleburgh by area farmers and youth participants from The Brotherhood / Sister Sol, a New York City based not-for-profit that provides comprehensive, holistic and long-term support services to youth who range in age from eight to twenty-one. The Senator will tour a "high-tunnel" to learn how crops are grown throughout the winter months continuing to supply the food chain year round.
The youth participants from The Brotherhood / Sister Sol are a part of a program to encourage good nutrition, teach about sustainable agriculture and implement a new initiative around urban farming.
