NORTH GREENBUSH, N.Y. - The North Greenbush Police Department has arrested a man for allegedly stealing lottery tickets from a gas station in Wynantskill.

Police say 49-year-old Andrew Stregare of North Greenbush became frustrated and angered while inside the Raizada Fuels on Main Avenue on Sunday, because the clerk was preoccupied and that's when he allegedly stole several lottery tickets from the counter and left the store.

The owner of the store followed Stregare out of the store and tried to get the tickets back by jumping on the running board of the conversion van being driven by Stregare.

As he exited the parking lot, the owner fell off the driver's side of the van, suffering a broken ankle and several abrasions.

Stregare was taken into custody a short time later when the vehicle he was driving was located at an apartment complex at 30 Bellemead Street.

He has been charged with first-degree Robbery and other charges and remanded to Rensselaer County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail.
