FULTONVILLE, N.Y. – A six-month long investigation into dozens of burglaries has led to the arrest of a father and his two sons.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says they have been investigating 56-year-old John Mickels, of Sprakers, 29-year-old Jonathan Mickels, of Middleburgh, and 32-year-old Joshua Mickels, of Fort
Plain, for six months after investigators were led to believe the father and his two sons were responsible for about 30 burglaries in four counties.
The Sheriff's Office says the burglaries took place in Montgomery, Otsego, Herkimer, and Schoharie Counties.
Investigators executed a search warrant and recovered items so far including long guns, a wood splitter, jewelry, a chainsaw, crystal, change and a bow with arrows.
The Montgomery County and Otsego County Sheriff's Offices have been working on this case with the NYS Police from Fonda, Herkimer, Cobleskill, Richfield and Princetown.
They believe more arrests are likely as the investigation continues.
The three men have been charged with Burglary 2nd-degree and Grand Larceny 4th-degree, both felonies.
