BRUNSWICK, N.Y. – The Brunswick NY HOG Chapter held its 15th annual ‘Toys for Tots' event November 3.
Hundreds of people met Sunday morning in Troy at the Brunswick Harley-Davidson on Route 7. People were invited to donate a new un-wrapped toy for a needy child in the Capital Region or make a $10 donation.
Following the toy collection, 500 riders began their motorcycle parade in Troy and ended at the Shop Rite Plaza at Nott Street and Balltown Road in Niskayuna.
"It's all about the kids, it's all about them having something for Christmas" one biker, dressed as Santa Clause said. "Sometimes we get a bad rating, a bad image, but we're not. Take a look at us. We're all here to do a good thing."
While at Shop Rite, chapter members delivered the donated toys to help kick-off the Annual Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign.
Even Santa decorates his sleigh different every year and believes groups like the Brunswick motorcycle club have the power to change a child's life.
"You see their little eyes light up, you see those little smiles, I know it makes a difference" he said.
