HALFMOON, N.Y. – The Town Board of Halfmoon has filed a petition seeking removal of Supervisor Mindy Wormuth over a week after she turned herself in to federal court.
The petition sets forth an effort by the board to remove Wormuth for her "misconduct, maladministration, malfeasance and malversation in office." It also lists the Federal and State changes she faces.
"The Town Board has already asked her to resign and she has refused," said Town Councilman John Wasielewski.
At the beginning of October, Wormuth notified town board members that she would be unable to come to work for the next thirty days due to medical reasons. This came shortly after four Halfmoon council members released a letter calling her an ineffective leader and asking her to resign.
It is expected that a hearing will be held on the matter.
