Police seek help in finding missing shooting suspects

GREEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Police in Green Island are still searching for two men who fled from the scene of a shooting late Saturday night.

Witnesses said they heard five or six shots ring out around 10:30 p.m. Saturday near the Quick Shop Deli Grocery on Sixth Avenue in Troy. They said one car was chasing after the other.

A vehicle matching the description of the car that drove away from the scene was later found speeding through Green Island.

Green Island Police said there were four people in the car. The driver of the vehicle, 18-year-old Rayquan Murphy, and passenger Aquell Tarver, 20, were found and arrested by police. They were charged with criminal possession of a loaded firearm.

Police believe they were connected to the shooting on Sixth Avenue earlier that night.

The other two passengers are still on the run. The investigation is ongoing.

Green Island Police ask that you contact them if you have any information in regards to the shooting.
