Police searching for two males who allegedly broke into and stole from a school


BENNINGTON, Vt. – Bennington Police are searching for two males who allegedly broke into Mount Anthony Union High School (MAUHS).

According to authorities, on October 13, around 2 a.m., two males broke into the high school through the boiler room doors on the east side of the school.

The suspects entered the school and walked to the Career Development Center. That is when they allegedly broke into the student store and removed the register drawers.

Police believe they only took on of the drawers and said the subjects were only inside the school for a short period of time.

The males were last seen walking out the rear parking lot towards Congress Street where they may have entered a vehicle.

The first suspect has been described as a white male with side burns and possible goatee. He was wearing blue jeans, camouflage vest jacket with a long sleeve shirt underneath, work boots and a baseball hat.

The second suspect is described as a white male who was wearing a black hoodie with red writing on the front, blue jeans, work boots and a grey baseball hat.
