SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) - A 24-year-old upstate New York man accused of firing a rifle close to downtown Saratoga Springs is behind bars.
Justin Eistertz is charged with menacing, reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon. He's being held in Saratoga County Jail pending arraignment.
Police responded early Wednesday to a report of gunshots outside a residence and were told by witnesses that Eistertz had pointed a rifle at them and allegedly fired a shot.
Officers surrounded the home and made contact with Eistertz, but he refused to come out. After a brief discussion with another occupant of the home, a female came to the door, let officers in, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident. There were no injuries.
Officers confiscated the rifle and also found a spent shell casing.
