About 35,000 denied deer management permits to be issued in November

Posted:

ALBANY, N.Y. – The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has announced that a number of Deer Management Permits (DMPs) will be issued to hunters who were previously denied permits during the initial application period earlier this fall.

According to the DEC, nearly 35,000 DMPs will be available in several Wildlife Management Units starting November 1, 2013.

The DMPs allow hunters to harvest antlerless deer, which helps to control the deer population.

For Wildlife Management Unit locations, check out the 2013-14 Hunting and Trapping Regulations Guide or visit DEC's website at www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/8302.html.
