ALBANY, N.Y. -- After parent's expressed frustration over the time of a hearing on the new common core education standard in Albany on Thursday, officials have extended the meeting time.
Parents were upset that the meeting time at Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School in Albany was scheduled for 4 to 6 p.m. – a time most parents are at work.
According to the State Education Department, the time will now be extended to 7p.m.
New York State education commissioner Doctor John King will be there for the entire hearing.
