SAUGERTIES, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a Hudson Valley woman has been charged with stealing more than $100,000 from a special-needs trust fund she was administering.
The Ulster County Sheriff's Office tells local media outlets that 42-year-old Michelle Neumann of Saugerties was arrested last weekend and charged with grand larceny and forgery.
Officials say the investigation started in April determined that between August 2012 and last March Neumann illegally withdrew money from an investment account and put it in two accounts in her name.
Investigators say Neumann was one of two administrators of the fund. She's accused of forging documents to make withdrawals from the fund without the knowledge of the second administrator.
Neumann was released after being arraigned. It couldn't immediately be determined if she had a lawyer.
