Two helped rescue man who drove truck into Lake Luzerne

LAKE LUZERNE, N.Y. - The Warren County Sheriff's Office says two people helped save a man who had driven his pick-up truck into Lake Luzerne on Sunday.

The Sheriff's office says around 8:30 p.m. patrols responded to Lake Luzerne off of Wayside Beach for the report of a vehicle in the water. Officers say the male operator, 70-year-old Neil Johns of Stony Creek suffers from a medical condition, which is believed to have caused the crash which led his pick-up truck to drive into the water.

Two Lake Luzerne citizens, 25-year-old Ryan Swigert and 17-year-old Charles Allen, helped Johns exit his vehicle and get to shore safely.

As a result, Johns did not suffer any injuries but was transported to Glens Falls Hospital for further evaluation.
